I've been procrastinating. All four of my wisdom teeth are lying flat - beneath my gums. All but one.
My colleagues know only too well of my little battle with this tooth. The missed opportunities (read: food), the whining, the throbbing pain. The episodes were periodic, I always knew that the pain would go away after a couple of days or so.
No such luck this time. I'm really going to have to pull it out, especially if I don't want to screw up my other teeth.
The pain is getting a tad bit too unbearable. I can't think. I can't enjoy my food. I've resorted to sticking to the Aztec (and other liquids) for dinner. Eventually I'll have perpetual PMS. That's it lah. Have to do this now. I have RM190 left in my dental allocation for the year. The extraction is going to cost RM400. Sigh...

Doesn't really bother me, except for that occasional 1-2 day bout of excruciating pain I suffer every 2-3 years. I know I should have them out but I'm too chicken! And you'd think wisdom teeth makes you more wise!

The lady doctor was kind enough not to laugh at me for the whole duration. But one side of my face ballooned for a few days. (also make sure you have someone with you since you wouldn't want to be caught in traffic with lots of bleeding kapas in yr mouth)

Some ppl have wisdom teeth and don't need to remove them. In my case, I have 4 that's crowding my jaw...

Posted by: Zsarina at 2004年03月27日 13:58My cheek already heavily swollen when I got my wisdom tooth removed (whiter than white!) and had two stitches on the gums. I then live on just full cream milk for 10 days and lost 10kgs (in weight). A good slimming programme for me! :-)

He had one done and one more to go.. errr cost him $10 only cos he is still a student... but definitely not more than $150 for us adults. I have spent more than $3000 on his orthodontics so that is why I am so stingy ... heheh!
I had all 4 of mine removed.. painful and costly too. Be strong woman!! :)
I had an impacted wisdom tooth extracted last year, it was crowding out my other nearby teeth, pushing a tooth so far back that my toothbrush couldn't reach it...
Went to Bala's dental surgery in Bangsar - unbelievable - it was absolutely painless!!
The fee was a bit dear, but after having read all the stuff on the Web about removing impacted wisdom teeth, I honestly thought I was gonna suffer like hell... but instead, it was pain-free and the dental clinic had got me a as a permanent patient..
