Life is Too Short

It's interesting how often people say that. That life is too short.

A Yoda friend of mine once told me that what 'makes' us is the choices we make in life, not our misfortunes, and not our privileges. Couple that with the aforementioned guiding principle that life is too short, the question that begs to be asked: What should one do?

Today, I found my mind wandering off to people I wish I had said things to when I had the chance, people who are now too far to hold, people who if I had the chance to turn back the clock, I would have kept close to my heart.

Interesting what goes through your mind when you happen to have that chance meeting in the lift, chance glance at dinner, and chance thought over a drowsy afternoon. These things happened to me today - and each time, I found myself making a conscious choice to speed past my own past with these individuals, and make a lightning quick decision: to smile, to give a knowing look, or to just look away.

reminds me of something the character 'Death' of the Sandman said. Something to this effect:

Everyone gets the same deal. Everyone gets a lifetime.

well, okay. maybe not quite applicable to your post. but that's what it reminded me of anyway.

I don't want to sound corny... but its like the Matrix Reloaded.. when they finished talking to the Merovingian and went to the lift, Morpheus says "what was meant to happen has happened" or something along those lines.

Altough we have made bad choices in the past, in the bigger picture it was meant to happen. We may always have the choice, but something bigger is guiding us despite the coices we make... thats the logic I subscribe to. Hence, what is meant to happen was meant to happen.

but currently I am feeling the same way you do, despite what I stated above... its human to regret or feel despaired.. but I wish I didn't feel this way, this week... I've got tonnes to do and battling my feelings while at it! =P

What 'makes' us is everything - the choices we make in life, our misfortunes, our privileges, our experiences (both positive and negative), the people we meet, the conversations we have... everthing.

i'm glad you took a photo of "42" - there was some cosmic meaning to our breakfast pastries that morning, i just know it! had a great time in melbourne with you.

I've always been fascinated with number 42... eversince I read Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy!
