The first quote is timely for me personally. Had a bad morning. Thank you very much noname, whoever you are...
Secondly, I find that both quotes are somewhat relevant to a thread on Sharizal's blog on Sasha Saidin's wedding. The 'unofficial' pictures of her wedding has been circulating, and again, the comments attached, as well as comments in the blog, has been, in my opinion, self-righteous and judgmental.
It's good to remind ourselves once in a while, that none of us are perfect.

*sigh* It seems in today's world, the faster you can pass judgement on another, the better you are in your God's eyes.

The Quran verse that Najah quoted is about mengumpat, mengata, memfitnah other people. But in the Sasha discussion case, I guess they are not doing any of that because they are not discussing behind Sasha's back. Sasha can read all the comments. They are merely giving 'advice' and showing their 'concern' to Sasha...The hadith on the other hand is about membuka aib org lain...well i guess the circulating of the wedding photos at the chappel for ill intention is what is reffered by the hadith. We have to remember Sasha is a celebrity, a muslim celebrity in fact. She has followers amongst muslim teenagers(i assume). Maybe some of them make Sasha as their idol. I'm not saying the teenagers are stupid or could not differentiate between halal & haram, but you know la how kids these days are... tend to follow their fav artist like mad. The possiblities are there, so I could understand why the people are mad at Sasha. Maybe to us this not a big issue because we could not and do not see the implaction just yet... hopefully everything would be alright *sigh*

No matter how bad that person is we can't simply say to that person 'you gonna rot in hell' because we never know what God(Allah) has in mind. Yes, some of the readers did get overboard by giving vulgar & unnecessary comments, but most of them(in my opinion) are trying to call good and forbid evil.
The prophet(s.a.w) once said "Whoever among you sees an offensive or evil act, he must change it with his hand, if he can not then (he must change it) with his tongue, if he can not then (he must feel it) with his heart, and that is the WEAKEST Iman (faith)."
It's good that they have the discussion at Sharizal's blog. At least we can learn something from there...
Ohh, by the way, hukum menunaikan solat Jumaat ialah fardhu Ain ke atas setiap lelaki Islam yang telah cukup syarat-syaratnya.
