This entry is about the literal meaning of the phrase, rather than the metaphorical.
I am so sorry.
This I say to the young lady who stood next to me in the LRT this morning. I decided to be the good person today and didn't take the train back to Kelana Jaya from Taman Bahagia to get a seat as I head back to KL (yes, I admit - I am one of those people). So I tried to balance myself on my little pointy heels for half an hour while reading a book.
As I reached the 2nd last stop, I got a call on my cell. The balancing act became more elaborate, but seeing that I was almost at KLCC, I thought it would be ok.
After Kg Baru, the train jolted and I lost my balance. My left foot landed on the naked toes of this poor young lady, who lept and yelped. I quickly hung up the phone to tend to her 'wounds' and profusely do the Japanese sorryx1000s bows.
Again, I am soooooo sorry.
[I'm so glad we don't live in a litigous (spel?) society.]

Posted by: maria at 2003年07月04日 11:30ouch! i surely hope the lady's toes did not bleed! not long ago, when i was taking the LRT to work in KL (i dont work work in KL now, dread the travelling!), i always wear covered shoes. 1st, sebab takut terkena orang pijak kaki, 2nd sebab KL kalau banjir, covered shoes works well for me!
