Effervescent and Ever Graceful

In the past 12 hours, I have been called 'effervescent' and 'ever graceful' (and in the same breath as Audrey Hepburn) by two of the most vocal men (as opposed to little boys) on the Malaysian blogging scene.

Lesson for the girls: Beware of strangers bearing gifts and even stranger men bearing flattery. :P

On a side note, I picked up a book from Kino yesterday entitled "21st Century Etiquette: Charlotte Ford's Guide to Manners for the Modern Age". Pish posh, you may say, but I firmly believe in rules if one is to engage oneself in polite (or even impolite) society. For example:

1. Always be nice, as demonstrated by Aiz.
2. If you want to be honest, be thorough and eloquent about it, as shown by Jeff. Publish personal details for the 'kaki pukul' to pick up while you're at it.
3. If you have to be honest and want to be rude about it, make sure it's funny, as demonstrated by Dinesh.
4. Don't shoot yourself in the foot (or place foot in mouth) on the Internet, as experienced first hand by he-who-shall-not-be-mentioned-again.
5. When faced with conflict, don't take sides, be the referee, it's so much more fun. Add point number 2, plus a dash of Aussie accent - and voila! You've got a footie show!

Etiquette, at times a lost art. Such a shame.

Flattery, in its right place should be taken as is, not over analyzed.
