Day Off

I totally forgot that today was an off day. Tomorrow is the Agong's birthday and my company has always been generous with compensating holidays. But up until about 11.30 am yesterday, I was oblivious to this fact.

Hence the unplanned off day. At least I got to plan breakfast. Which meant that the rest of the day was spent in a state of disconnectedness (no internet), singularity (everyone else was working) and hunger (no companion, no food).

But I did enjoy myself. I discovered many wonderful things while staying at home. Among others:
1. Having cold water run through your toes is ticklish yet soothing.
2. It is fun to splash water on your face and not worry about drying it quickly.
3. Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Cups taste yummier if you take your time to eat it, especially after it has melted all over your fingers.
4. Sex and the City (all 5 seasons) is funny, even after the 10th replay.
5. Taking a nap at 12 is nice. Taking a nap at 4 gives you a headache.
6. SMSing friends who have to work is fun. Especially if it reminds them that you're off, and they're not.
7. You should stop SMSing them when they forget what they were supposed to do and spend too much time replying to you.
8. CNN is better when it's watched to the tune of Blue Bar compilations. Gives the problems of the world a surreal, Jason-Lo-doing-"Evening News" ambience.
9. Cleaning up is good. I found a Mario Vargas Llosa book from 2 years ago underneath a pile of old Cleo magazines. Now I can actually finish reading it.

p.s. Thanks to Penny for putting me out of my misery by taking me on an excursion to do 'research' at Zara, Raoul and Kookai. It was an extremely enlightening experience.

p.p.s. Thanks to Sharizal for going to the gym.
