Am I the maternal type or not? I encounter this question again and again, in the form of that cute little pau called Aeisyah (my niece).
I have friends who, despite being in stable relationships, have not yet been overwhelmed by the urge to procreate. They like other people's kids, but don't feel the need to have their own.
Then there are those who genuinely want children, but for lack of a better situation at the relationship front, are unable to proceed. And there are those who are in the right relationship situation, and has the genuine wish to have children, but are limited by medical reasons.
With advances in reproductive medicine and contraceptive options, women can now choose to follow or not to follow the course set out by nature. Biological reasons aside, why do women (and men) have children? Can we really hear our reproductive biological clock ticking, or are we pre-programmed by society to believe that after a certain age, it's screaming for us to reproduce? Is having children a prerequisite to social acceptance?

Is having children a prerequisite to social acceptance?- depends on the social circle i guess... but i get it all the time.. the "million dollar question" ..especially when my sister had my little nephew..and to be honest i feel incomplete especially around married couples with kids.. :o( ..
