Once a year, I allow myself to become a kid again. As adults, we learn to not ask for things - we find it hard to ask for a raise, promotions, the love of another. Anything that seems selfish is deemed out of bounds, because adults have to be more 'adult' about things.
So, once a year, I let myself ask for things - although this year will be the first time that I actually tell people about it.

Items on this list are either attainable, slightly unrealistic, or downright impossible. But I am reminded of Seven of Nine's toast at the baby shower for the daughter of B'llana Torres:
"May all her wishes come true, save one, so that she will always have something to strive for."
